Mark Fuller was introduced as the Cumberland “Citizen of the Year” at the annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet held at Bistro 63 in Barronett on Tuesday, April 24th.
Mr. Fuller accepted a teaching position in Cumberland in 1975. Over the next 40 years Mark would not only serve as a teacher and a coach but was, and still is, a great ambassador of the community. Mark and his wife Barb, promote Cumberland like few others.
While best known for baseball (his teams compiled an overall record of 482 wins and 243 losses,) while winning 10 HON championships, 14 regional titles and four sectional titles and a state runner-up in 1998.
He also coached football for 24 years, which included 14 years as head coach.
Mark has written sports and other articles for the Advocate for over 30 years. He has run the Summer Recreation Program for many years, been a member of the Knights of Columbus, he had announced the Rutabaga Parade for 24 years, and was instrumental in forming the Cumberland Athletic Hall of Fame.
Finally, Mark is a member of the Wisconsin State Baseball Coaches and American Baseball Coaches Fall of Fame.
Congratulations Mark, on being this years Cumberland Citizen of the Year.
