Last spring the second graders were each given a packet of sunflowers to grow over the summer.  At the end of September, the now third graders brought in their sunflowers to see which one had the largest diameter.  Each participant  received a certificate and a small prize.  Congratulations to this year’s participants:  Nautica Ruppel, Graycin Miller, Isabel Gonyer, Mitchell Monchilovich, Cash Rouzer, Kiera Fox, Maycee Fargo, Greta Weaver, Lauren McCreary, and Brody Gilbertson.  This year’s winner of a bird feeder was Cash Rouzer with a sunflower measuring 17.5 inches. The Master Gardeners is an organization  that donates many hours to local gardening and landscaping projects.  The goal of the Master Gardener Organization is to encourage, foster, support, and promote Horticulture for residents in Barron County.
