Harvey A. Richter

Harvey Allen “Al” Richter, 69,  of Cumberland, died unexpectedly, April 22, 2019. He was born June 22, 1949 in Robbins Chapel,  Virginia to Harvey and Gertrude “Loretta” (Pennington) Richter. He was married in Louisville, KY on April 1, 1988 to Susan David.  
Al worked in construction and maintenance his entire life. He was most recently employed by MN DOT.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at the fire pit with family, friends and a good cigar.  Al was an amazing and loving husband, father, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Richter; his sons: Nathan Richter and Harvey Richter, Jr.; his daughter, Laurie (Tony) Santos; grandchildren: Emily Richter, John Richardson, Jr., Leanna Richardson, Brandi Richter and David Johnson; sisters: Gloria Irving and Evelyn (Tom) Gizzi; many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Edgar Richter and sister, Josephine Billings.
A time for sharing and prayer service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 26, 2019 at Skinner Funeral Home-Cumberland with Pastor Tim Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Virginia. Honorary casket bearers are his son, Nathan Richter and his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9-11 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.
In Lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital are preferred.
Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland is serving the family.
