Barron native, Chris Kroeze, took the country by storm on this season of NBC’s The Voice

On Monday, December 17th, at least 40 schools, including the Cumberland Schools, celebrated Chris Kroeze Day by wearing plaid shirts and backwards baseball hats.
The Barron artist has been the most streamed artist the past couple weeks on NBC’s The Voice. To kick off the finals Monday night,  Kroeze sang Lynryd Skynyrd’s classic “Sweet Home Alabama.” He also performed a duet of the Emmylou Harris song “Two More Bottles of Wine” with coach Blake Shelton and an original song titled “Human.”
Tuesday night saw gatherings throughout Barron County to cheer on their hometown hero. Kroeze made it to the final pairing before Chevel Shepard was named the winner.
What a ride Kroeze took all of Northwest Wisconsin and beyond on. Thanks for the fun you provided on this season of The Voice.  We look forward to seeing what’s next in your career as a musician.
Congratulations and good luck in the future!  We hope to see you performing in Cumberland again soon.
