Liz Alberg, glass artist and owner of The Glass Mermaid, was awarded a $250 grant from the Kay Bain Weiner Glass Art Ed Foundation and shared it with Kristin Korbel, art instructor at the Cumberland High School. Korbel’s Advanced Art students Elaina Bruno, Cora Grunseth, Tyerra Naylor, Mersada Nosbush, Lauren Pruett, Josie Shadick, Lauren Green,  and Amanda Williams participated in creating a fused glass project. Each Student, along with the instructors, chose a storefront from Cumberland’s main street to use as the subject of their piece.  The finished pieces were then mounted and are currently on display across from the High School office until a permanent location can be found.
