Polk County Fraud Alert

Beginning November 1, 2017 visitors to our site will have two (2) opportunities to access the complete content. After that time, in order to access the e-edition, you will need to become a subscriber.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is receiving information about a scam where someone is calling, identifying themselves as a Deputy, requesting payment for warrants.  The suspect requests payment in the form of gift cards.  Do not provide any information or payments, this is a scam.   
We ask that if you get a similar call, document the phone numbers and call your local Law Enforcement agency to file a report.   
A reminder that Deputies and Local Law Enforcement never take a direct payment by phone, this is an attempted Fraud.
