Shirley A. Sollman

Shirley Ann Sollman, 80, of Almena died Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Cumberland Healthcare. She was born October 29, 1938 to Otto and Hulda (Bussewitz) Elfers. Shirley graduated from Turtle Lake High School, class of 1957. She worked at the Bank of Turtle Lake for several years, in addition to working on the family farm.
She was married in Turtle Lake on December 3, 1960 to Richard Sollman who preceded her in death on September 7, 2015. Shirley went to work at the ASCS office in Barron, then for many years as an Aid at Cumberland Healthcare until her retirement.
She was very involved in the community, including the Moon Lake Threshermens’ Association, her church, card club at Moon Lake, but her primary focus was on her grandchildren and great granddaughters. This time of year she kept busy singing with the Wapogasset Dinner Theatre and was looking forward to another gun deer season. Shirley enjoyed baking and canning all of what Richard grew in their large garden.
She is survived by her daughter, Roxanne (Mike Seiser) Knutson of Dallas; her son, Scott (Shelly) Sollman of Turtle Lake; two grandchildren: Ashley (Bill) Gausman of Baldwin and David (Kristi) Sollman of Almena; great granddaughters: Evie and Emma Gausman; brothers: Myron (Barb) Elfers and Romaine Elfers, both of Almena; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.     
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake with Pastor Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tim Sollman, Bill Schradle, David Elfers, Bill Gausman, Brian Leisz and Steve Scribner.
Skinner Funeral Home of Turtle Lake is serving the family.
