Wrestlers have a good week
The Cumberland Wrestling team continued their fine season picking up two big HON wins at the Ladysmith Quad last Thursday. Cumberland defeated Spooner 48-31 and Barron 45-26. Cumberland picked up big wins by Gabby Skidmore at 106 pounds, Mathew Spry at 132 pounds, Isaiah Skidmore at 145 pounds and Mathew Larson at 195 pounds. The Beavers were aided by four Railroader forfeits. In the match against Barron, Cumberland crui- sed to a 45-26 win. Several Cumberland Wrestlers picked up big wins versus the Bears. Logan Steglich at 106 pounds, Gabby Skidmore at 113 pounds, Aaron Gunderson at 120 pounds, Reid Olson at 126 pounds, Isaiah Skidmore at 152 pounds, Trystin Neitzel at 170 pounds, Mathew Larson at 195 pounds and Kole Adams at 220 pounds. Overall it was a nice night for Beaver Wrestlers. Saturday Cumberland was back in Ladysmith for a 23 team Invitational. The Beavers finished a very respectable fifth.
Cumberland had nine wrestlers who finished in the top ten. Leading the way, and claiming his first tournament title was Logan Steglich at 106 pounds. Congratulations Logan. Also winning big at the Ladysmith Invitational was Isaiah Skidmore, 2nd place at 145 pounds, Reid Olson, 3rd place, 126 pounds, Mathew Spry, 4th place, 132 pounds, Adam Nyhus, 6th place, 152 pounds. Gabby Skidmore, 7th place, 113 pounds, Aaron Gunderson, 8th place 120 pounds, Gio Torres, 8th place 182 pounds and Dale Griffith, 9th place, 152 pounds.
